Blossom

Welcome to the first post of the new Refrain from the Identical website.Blossom with Multi-colored Scarf Acrylic by JoDee Luna 926Unfortunately, I had to shut down my original website due to hosting problems. The prospect of rebuilding a new website was overwhelming, to say the least, so I decided to post my latest acrylic painting, “Blossom,” as the feature image of this first post.

I painted the scarf with Joseph’s coat of many colors in mind; the gift given to him by his father reminds me of his dreams and the difficulties endured for his character to grow until he could shoulder the dreams’ fulfillments. His story begins in Genesis 37.

The blossoms on the painting remind me of God’s grace in our lives that causes us to blossom, even in the most trying of circumstances.
When I think about all the work it will take to rebuild this creativity website, I draw strength from this line of Rudyard Kipling’s poem, “If,”
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools: -Rudyard Kipling

So here’s to new beginnings, grace, and long journeys that carve out our life’s path. Here’s to grace and the ability to blossom.

    • Lisa, what a wonderful comment and complement. I really love the way you put this: “She gives me a sense of calmness almost like my personal guide.”

You crafted her essence into words. Thank you!

  3. Thanks for the back-story JoDee on your lovely work.

I updated my side links to feature your new URL here, but I could not get your posting added to my automatic feed widget. I’ll keep playing around with it.

I hope your weekend was a good one.

I am stunned to learn that you have to start your site from scratch.
SO many incredible posts on your previous site – I hope they are not lost!

I’m pleased to share that you are one of our Featured Guests at Inspire Me Monday at Create With Joy. I hope that by spreading the word, I can encourage you and help you to recover from this setback!

    Big hugs! 🙂

    • Thank you so much for the encouraging comment and for featuring me on Inspire Me Monday again. Closing down the website was devastating, but I did copy all of the content (545 posts) before I shut it down. I’m thinking about creating several eBooks from the best posts.

New beginnings are very difficult but hold a certain sense of adventure :).

    • Thank you so much Arnoldo! Yes, her scarf of many colors does hold Biblical significance. I’ve often looked to Joseph’s pilgrimage as a source of hope for my own. I pray Blossom will encourage others in need of such hope. Thank you for visiting and encouraging my new beginning!

  5. Visiting from Inspire Me Monday. You’re a talented artist. I love the way you draw inspiration from God’s word and transfer that to the canvas. What lovely work! Starting a blog from the ground up after having an established one has to be difficult. I hope you had a recent backup of your old one to upload to this one. I’m sure God will bless you here with your new site, as you share of yourself through the divinity of the Holy Spirit leading your heart and hands. Have a beautiful week!

    • Cathy, thank you for the lovely comment and blessing. Although I did copy all of the posts, there was a problem in the root folder of the blog so I can’t upload the previous folders.

I’m considering forming the content into a series of eBooks so readers can download them in an organized fashion.

What you wrote, “…as you share of yourself through the divinity of the Holy Spirit leading your heart and hands.” is my heart’s desire. Yet you worded my desire so beautifully. Thank you!
