Free Flight is a mixed media portrait that speaks to the mermaid in all of us that dares to soar.
I’m entranced with the idea that a mermaid could soar if determined enough. Free Flight speaks to the soul, encouraging us to dare, to explore, to venture out of the mundane so we can realize our dreams.
I created the background from some of my favorite beach photos. The seagull soaring through her hair speaks to me of freedom. The dolphins are from a statue in Cayucos, Ca. I used Photoshop to artistically stylize them with various hues of blue and green.
