We promised it would never happen to us.

That we’d lose our words, our voice, our passion to write.
That we’d abandon our blogs and books that were well into their becoming…

but it did!

The tyranny of the urgent
the malaise of the mundane
the pull of potential

sucked us into a vortex.

Words subsided…
until free-flowing rivers became trickling streams…
that only refreshed our souls’ dry riverbeds.

Words swept away by the loss of time…

to think
to ponder
to question

who we were, what we’d become, what we wanted to do…

until tragedy struck…

and one of us rediscovered her voice…
